Abstract

This research aimed to determine the impact of time and motion study to reduce time and inefficient movements and increase the productivity of preventive maintenance operations at the company rate in this year 2016. At a level of significance of 5% and 95% confidence a sample of 53 activities greased bearings was conducted surveys CPI were conducted, an instrument for data collection was used according to our dimensions with a total of 32 questions, it was validated by Cronbach alpha with IBM SPSS Statistics software v. 22, reaching a level of reliability of 83%. Besides process analysis diagram, bimanual diagram, time and motion study, in order to find timeouts, find bimanual movements that do not add value and increase productivity were used. It was found by analyzing procedures, the compliance rate was only instructional 56.78% achieving a level of poor compliance. Furthermore, methods and / or techniques and time study gave us the result that a task of oiling bearing was carried out in 3 hours 42 minutes and the second task in 1 hour 47 minutes, making oiling only 03 bearings per day. After the study was obtained that the time was reduced to 2 hours 30 minutes the first task in 1 hour 25 minutes the second task, achieving an activity over a day greased bearing is made. It was further found a new standard time for development activities. The increase of one more task to another bearing grease was achieved because the times were reduced and avoidable unproductive activities were eliminated. So, if before oiling bearings three a day, you can now perform four tasks grease a day.
