Abstract

Thisstudy aimed to investigate the relationship between positive and negative affects and self-efficacy for career choice for high school students. Additionally, we sought to investigate possible differences according to age, type of school and gender. We used the Zanon Scale of Affects and the Self-Efficacy Scale for Professional Choice, applied collectively in 60 high school students from a public school and a private one in the state of São Paulo, and 51.7% of them were female.Their agesranged between 14 and 18 years, with an average of 15.57. We found statistically significant correlations between the two factors of EAE-EP and Positive Affects, as well as the total score. The gender variable presented significant differences for negative affects and a factor of EAE-EP and for the total score, with girls achieving higher average in both.
