Satisfaction with life among schoolchildren in some regions of Peru

This research aimed to describe the levels of satisfaction with life in the school of Lima and some provinces considering sociodemographic variables such as sex, age, level of education, family type, income level of the family, academic performance, drug use in the secondary school level. The sample consisted of 2240 students of the third, fourth and fifth secondary 8 regions of the country. This research is descriptive - comparative, with a non-cross experimental design. The instrument applied was the scale of satisfaction with life SWLS described by Diener (1995), adapted by Martínez (2004). To validate the scale of life satisfaction was performed by internal consistency, item analysis through correlation Item - corrected test and internal consistency through reliability coefficient Cronbach’s alpha obtaining the 0.796, which is aceptable. The results were evidenced that the sample evidence a high level of satisfaction with life (30.1 %), second is the average level (25.9 %) and 18.9 % of high satisfaction with life.
