Influence of the evaporation capacity on the dimensioning of a Rotadisk steam dryer

Abstract

Objective: The present investigation allows the determination of the influence of the evaporation capacity on the dimensioning of a Rotadiscos steam dryer. Materials and methods: The research is of an applicative, quantitative type. It has two defined phases: the field and the cabinet phases. The research method and design are descriptive; where the population was made up of the fishmeal plant of the company CANTARANA S.A.C., (Ex 1313) and the sample was the fishmeal plant located in the city of Chimbote. Results: Making a comparison between various proposed values of Rotadiscos dryers based on an evaporation capacity of 3,500 kg / h of evaporated water, they have the following main characteristics: Number of discs 67, distance between discs of 0.13 meters, dryer length of 9,511 meters and a dryer diameter of 1.99 meters with an L / D ratio equal to 4.9, reaching a speed value of 10.9 rpm, with a value of the actual heat transfer equal to 388.27 m2, this last value is close to the value expected 385 m2, with a margin of error of 0.97% . Conclusion. A material balance was carried out in the Plant of 120 Ton / h of capacity of the Corporation Pesquera 1313 S.A Company, determining a value of 28.5 Ton / h of evaporated water to be obtained during the drying process with Rotadiscos type dryers. The heating area equal to 380 m2 was determined, which complies with an evaporation capacity of 3,500 kg / h of evaporated water in 8 Rotadiscos type steam dryers, with which the K factor established in the Peruvian regulations, according to RD N ° 091-2002-PE-DNEPP, with a value of 26,316.
