Abstract

The present investigation was done to determine the overall objective to get the Psychometric Properties of the Garley SelfConcept Questionnaire. The sample consisted of 464 male and female students from first to fifth grade of three state high school of El Porvenir. Construct validity was determined by confirmatory factor analysis, showing minimal differences of the estimated model with the theoretical model; The test also has a construct validity dimension - test using Pearson Product Moment correlations being found between .65 and .76, denoting an intermediate and highly significant for each of the dimensions, as well within the intercorrelations between dimensions there is intercorrelation direct, substantial degree between the Personal selfevaluation and dimension and size of Physical Self-Concept and Family intercorrelations and direct medium grade highly significant among the other dimensions of Social acceptance and Self- evaluation, is also a high reliability was achieved by the Method of Internal Consistency Cronbach's alpha coefficient, obtaining a result in the complete test .90. Finally, the development of percentile norms held by sex and grade with their respective levels and cutoffs; differing by gender, in Familiar self-concept Highly Significant and Meaningful in the entire test, the dimensions of Intellectual self-concept and Sense of Control. By degree Significant differences in the dimensions of Familiar self-concept and Sense of Control were issued. Concluding that the Garley Self-Concept Questionnaire is a valid, reliable and with specific rules assessed reality.
