Abstract

The objective of the research wasto determinethe impact of the application of the queuing system to reduce waiting time in vehicles passing through the Huarmey toll. At a significance level of 5% and 95% confidence, a sample of 194 vehicles was determined, also for the selection of days and hours. The research is pre-experimental type. The arrival rate was found to be 1,437 vehicle / minute; the service rate of 1,1851 vehicles / minute with waiting costs of 41.86 soles and service 16,2 soles and where the number of servers in garita is 2 with waiting times of 2.51 minutes arriving dangerously at 3 Minutes according to the norm in contracts. With the Win Qsb program it was calculated that the optimal number of servers is 3. With a confidence level of 95% the hypothesis test concludes that the times before the study are greater than the times after the latter with a probability value " P "of 88,02%; asituation that according to vehicle projection increases by 9,05% and controls the flow of vehicles by 2017. The research conclude that the increase of one more server in the booth facilitates and improves the attention of the users what is beneficial for the fuel savings, time of travel of route and avoidspenalization by reaching to maximum limits according to contract.
