Abstract

The present research had as objective to make a model of a triple effect evaporator in direct current for the concentration of sugary solutions. From a balance of matter and energy we established non-linear mathematical models that describe the evaporation process, the number of equations raised were 6. The solution of this system of equations allowed us to determine process variables such as heating steam flow (F), the heat transfer area (A), the temperature of the first effect (T1), the temperature of the second effect (T2), the concentrated liquor leaving the effect 1 (L1), concentrated liquor leaving the effect 2 (L2), the concentration in effect 1 and 2 and the concentration of the final product. In order to test the mathematical models established in this research, a system of triple effect direct current evaporators was solved and the results were compared with those reported by other researchers, which were similar, indicating that the models are correct for the description Of the analyzed evaporation system.
