Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the psychometric properties of the Garley Self-Concept Questionnaire in elementary students from three state schools in Chocope district. It was a technological and psychometric design investigation; for which a sample of 409 students was determined through stratified probability sampling. The results obtained with respect to the construct validity to be worked through by confirmatory factor analysis indicated a higher index than .90. So, in the correlation dimension - test results were between .58 and .87, which is considerable. Rejardina to reliability by internal consistency, the instrument reached a score of .83 and its subscales were between .42 and .71. Moreover, percentile scales were constructed by gender and grade because significant differences were found. Finally, cutoffs and descriptive levels were established.
