Psychometric properties of the scale of happiness Lima high school students

Abstract

The present technological type investigation had as general objective to determine the psychometric properties of Happiness Scale of Lima in students from the first to the fifth grade of high school in state educational institutions from Victor Larco Herrera District. The sample was composed by 640 students of both sexes whose age ranged between 12 to 17 years, which was obtained across the stratified probability sampling. Concerning the psychometrics finding, first was construct validity was found across item - scale correlation ship, reporting values, in the general scale between .339 to .654, as well it was made a Scale – Test correlation. It appreciated that the four obtained bigger correlation than .70 when it relates to the general scale, being the highest correlation the subscale Happiness of live (.863) and the lowest Satisfaction with the life (.739), this concluded that all the correlations obtained are highly significant. For the reliability, Cronbach´s Alpha was use by internal consistency method; where the global test shows a reliability coefficient of .992. Finally, the percentile norms were built by sex because it was find significant differences between men and women.
