Abstract

The objective of the present investigation was to determine the evidence of validity and reliability of the scale of childish perfectionism, in a sample of 365 students, belonging to two state educational institutions, ranged from 8 to 12 years of age. Regarding the validity based on the internal structure determined that 15 of the 16 items reported a normal distribution. The third model contemplating Child Perfectionism as a general factor, it reached acceptable adjustment measures (x2 / gl = 1.657, RMSEA = .042 IC [.025 - .058], S-RMR = .053, CFI = .95; TLI = .93), thus improving internal consistency. The factorial loads were obtained by reaction to the failure (.44 and .61) by self-demands; while the items were from (.31 to .66). The validity based on convergence, the dimensions of self-demands and reaction to failure are related in large magnitude with the stress in the school and in the family environment. The reliability through internal consistency method obtained (ω = .83).
