Estilo de socialización parental, funcionalidad familiar y agresividad en adolescentes de Trujillo

Abstract

This non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational-type research work was carried out with the purpose of determining the relationship between parental socialization styles, family functionality and aggression among adolescents in the district of Trujillo in a sample composed of 410 students of secondary level who oscillated between 12 to 18 years in Educational Institutions of the district of Trujillo. We used the Parental Socialization Styles Questionnaire in Adolescents (ESPA 29) from Musitu y García (2004), adapted in Trujillo by Jara (2013); with regard to family functionality, FACES III by Olson, et al., (1985) and the questionnaire by Buss and Perry (1992) for aggressiveness, adapted by Matalinares, et al., (2012) were used. The results indicated that there is no significant relationship between the styles of parental socialization (father) and family functionality with adolescent aggression in the district of Trujillo with a coefficient of determination R2 = .044; However, with regard to the mother, there is a relationship between the styles of parental socialization, family functionality and aggressiveness in adolescents with a coefficient of determination R2 = .095, which explains the presence of linear association between the variables.
