Abstract

The objective of this work is to develop a detection algorithm for the recognition of the pear in its optimal phase for harvesting applied to the industry, through the use of different artificial vision and image processing techniques. The specific objectives are to describe artificial vision and brightness processing techniques, in addition to using programs for the development of the algorithm. Pear recognition is carried out in real time, using the appropriate brightness and technological equipment. The algorithm recognized the pear in its optimal phase for harvesting by 98% and with an average detection time of 7.63 min. This research aims to add evidence with respect to previous research works that developed detection algorithms for some fruit, in addition to rescuing information for future research that aims to improve industrial processes in companies whose final product is the import or export of fruits.
