Study of storage management and how to improve the segregation of hazardous waste in a naval services plant in the city of Chimbote

The objective of the research is to implement a storage management program with the purpose of improving the segregation of hazardous waste in a naval services company. The methodology used is applied and quantitative research, with a pre-experimental design; The sample is the reports of hazardous waste generation in the years 2021 and 2022. The diagnosis showed that there is no correct management of hazardous waste since there is an average compliance of 40%; Oil cylinders and batteries, fluorescent lights and batteries were selected as critical waste because they remain in the company for more than a month. Results. The amount of waste available is projected in order to determine the space of the temporary warehouse (29 m2) and general (59 m2); Likewise, procedures, records and verification guides were established, the result of these changes reduced waste stagnation by 8% and inadequate outlets by 50%; Thus, it was concluded that storage management reduces the segregation of hazardous waste.
