Abstract

The objective of the research was to design a warm asphalt mixture (MAT) from crude palm oil (ACP) that meets the stability and flow requirements for flexible pavements contemplated in the EG 2013 standard. The research was experimental. The crude palm oil added to the asphalt mixture in warm was used, reducing the optimum percentage of asphalt. During the realization of the 99 asphalt briquettes, ACP was added in percentages of 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5 respectively, at a temperature of 135 ° for the studied types of transits (light, medium and heavy). The optimum percentage of crude palm oil (ACP) for these threetypes were: 1.0% for light and medium traffic and 0.5% for heavy traffic. The percentages obtained are of Type "A" of ACP (industrial ACP), reason why it is deduced that the type of ACP to be used in a MAT is of the industrial type. Therefore, it is proposed to carry out investigations in test sections to evaluate the behavior of the asphalt binder in warm with the new design with ACP.
