This research was carried out with the objective of reducing inventory management time by redesigning the warehouse area in the company. The study had a longitudinal pre-experimental design. The population was made up of the inventory management times of all the mobile units and the sample was the inventory management times with respect to a mobile unit. The Ishikawa spine and a direct observation guide were used for the initial diagnosis, the time was taken to identify the standard time of each process, the ABC analysis was applied and the Sistem Layout Planning methodology was developed to establish the redesign of distribution, finally, an improvement consolidation was made. The result was a reduction in travel time, between areas, of 44.29%, making the time of the unloading and storage process decrease from 6 hours to 4 hours (36.51%) and the picking and dispatch process, decreasing 5 hours at an average of 3 hours (46.43%), these results corroborated the hypothesis, which was contrasted with the statistical test of T-Student, with an error level of 5% to 95% confidence level. It was concluded that, through the redesign of distribution, the distances traveled between the areas were reduced, which allowed the inventory management time to decrease considerably, speeding up the activities of the warehouse, improving order management.
