Abstract

The objective of the investigation was to determine the relationship between preventive maintenance management and availability in the John Deere tractor fleet in the area of machinery in a company that provides livestock services. The population was 105 people involved, owners of the problem and the sample was stratified resulting in 46 people. The criticality calculation was determined with the critical subsystems, which make the availability of tractors impossible. The hypothesis was contrasted with MP9 preventive maintenance software. The results obtained were that the tractors Nº 15, 16, 21, 22, 24 and 36 are those that are less available for the execution of the work with the percentages of the average of failures of the subsystems of 79,58%, 70 , 90%, 50.63%, 65.80%, 60.37% and 75.49%; Being the cause the lack of preventive maintenance planning of the same. For this reason with the implementation of MP9 preventive maintenance software was possible the control in the area of machinery with respect to the tractors which raises the availability and operability of the same. In the instrument, a validity of 93.75% was obtained by expert judgment and the reliability was 96.30%; Research modeling (XY) Availability (y) = 111,994-0,344 (diagnosis) -1,204 (activity planning) with a correlation coefficient of 86% accepted the research hypothesis. In conclusion, the management of preventivemaintenance is related to the availability in the fleet of tractors of the area of machinery in the company that provides livestock services.
