The present research aims to determine the effect of improving the quality management system under ISO / EC 17025 regarding test process time of quality laboratory in a steel company, for this, a research design of the pre-experimental type was used with a pre-test and post-test, where the population consisted of all the processes of trials of the chemical laboratory of the steel company (analysis of process via x-ray, analysis of process via spectrometric, analysis of process via absorption atomic and via classical pathway), which was considered the test process of analysis via spectrometry as sample, where a non-probability conducted reason to the investigator where sampling was a non-probability sampling according to reason of the investigator . Data were collected through the diagnostic questionnaire, the list of documentary verification and the time register format. The above data were processed using the Microsoft Excel software. The results showed that improving the quality management system under ISO / IEC 17025 significantly minimizes test process time of quality laboratory in a steel Company.
