Related to indigenism, scholars have highlighted the use of different motifs, themes and tropes of Vallejo´s poetry. In the present work we intend to insert his work within the parameters of poetic modernity so that a kind of continuity and relationship can be seen between his prose and theatrical works. With this aim in mind, we propose, firstly, a development of the points of connection between the Andean cosmovision and avant-garde primitivism; secondly, a reading of texts related to theatrical indigenism and the world of farce at the beginning of the century and, finally, expressing the eminent relationship and unitary conception of meaning that is presented between Colacho hermanos and the proletarian indigenist novel, El Tungsteno, with which he shares its genesis.
