This report was oriented on determinating if Phyllanthus niruri “chanca piedra” presents on diuresis and sodium levels in Rattus rattus var. albinus. This study was conformed by 30 rats divided in three treatments' groups, these received treatment previous for 6 hours with physiology saline solution, 8mg/Kg/pc of hydrochlorothiazide y 10gr/Kg/pc of Phyllanthus niruri extract to patron and problem respectively. Phyllanthus niruri presents diuretic effect with a urinary volume of 10.2 mL and these results are better than control group (4.66 mL) and patron group (8.31 mL) with significative difference (p<0.05). Phyllanthus niruri presents the best sodium levels excreted in contrast with control group and patron group with significative difference (p<0.05). In conclusion presents diuretic effect and increase sodium levels excreted in Rattus rattus var.albinus.
