Adjustment to the students' university life deserters in the first cycles associated with the relation with companions of study
Keywords:
Dropout student, College student adjustment, Correlation analysisAbstract
This exploratory research analyzes and displays the association between levels of variables adaptation to university life and relationship with dropout fellow students of the first three cycles, using statistical correspondence analysis. In the first part of the analysis, after describing the average profiles of rows and columns of contingency tables, it tests the null hypothesis of independence between categorical variables mentioned. Significant association was found between them. In the second part, we apply the correspondence analysis which culminates at the perceptual maps that visually show the association between different levels of the variables. This research is part of a wider investigation which is being done on the factors associated with dropping-out and adaptation to university life.
