Values and moral judgement in group of lawyers in Lima

Abstract

The objective of this study is to establish the relationship between values and moral judgement of lawyers in Lima. The sample was composed by 114 lawyers, men and women, whose average age was 34 years.

The instruments used were: Portrait Value Questionnaire of Schwartz (1992) and Socio moral Reflection Objective Measure of Gibbs et al (1984). It was concluded that there is no relationship between the two variables by sex. In the age case, it was found a negative relationship between Stimulation value (31 to 35 years) and moral judgement, and a positive relationship between Security value (36 to 40 years) Tradition(41 years older) and moral judgement.
