Racism, pseudoscience and public health in Peru (1870 - 1950)

This paper presents a brief review of two current trends in Peru from 1870 to
1950. The love for criminal anthropology and eugenics expressed by the elite
and its derivatives regarding sanitary measures is emphasized. This paper tries
to explain what some intellectualists thought about racist and pseudo scientific
doctrines.
