Abstract

This descriptive correlational research was carried out in order to determine the relationship between depression and stressing life events in Nursery students of Universidad Nacional de Trujillo, from January to December 2008. The sampling universe was formed by 267 students of Nursery of I, II, V y VII cycles. The instruments used were the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and the Cassullo Life Events Scale. The results show that 70% have no signs of depression, 58,4% is in the moderate level of stressing life events. The chi-square test was used for the statistic analysis. It can be concluded that the largest percentage of students don't have any sign of depression, are in a moderate level of stressing life events and there is highly significant relationship between depression and stressing life events in Nursery students.
