Abstract

The comparative descriptive type of study had for objective to determine and compare the relationship between the demographic factors: age, sex, civil status, and the dimension levels of the Burnout syndrome in Nursing and Psychology practitioners of the National University of Trujillo and Cesar Vallejo Trujillo, La Libertad - Peru. It was worked with a non probabilistic sample of 32 Nursing practitioners and 53 Psychology practitioners, that were signed on the IX cycle. A questionnaire was taken concerning the demographic factors and the Maslach Burnout Inventory. In relation with the Burnout syndrome dimensions, both groups present in a similar form low emotional exhaustiveness, low depersonalization and high personal accomplishment not founding any significant difference. Finally, there is not an statistics relationship among the demographic factors of age and conjugal status with the dimensions of the Burnout syndrome.
