Abstract

The non experimental research consisted of correlating the eating disorders and alexithymia in a sample of 300 female adolescents students from Trujillo city. The instruments used were the Eating Disorders Inventory – 2 (EDI – 2) and 20 item Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS – 20). The research resulted in a positive correlation between the scales of eating disorders and alexithymia, showing a highly significant relation for ten of the eleven scales measuring inventory with alexithymia and meaningful to asceticism and alexithymia.
