Abstract

The study intended to determine the relation between “Type A” form and confrontation strategies in 105 hypertensive patients treated at the “Luis Albrecht” State Hospital in Trujillo. The Framingham Scale for measuring “Type A” form was applied, along with D. L. Tobin's Confrontation Strategies Inventory, adapted for Spanish by Peralta, Figueroa, Recassens and Raich. The descriptive – correlative and cross – design method was used, showing a highly – significant direct correlation between “Type A” form and confrontation strategies focused on stagnation, and a significant reverse statistical correlation between the form and confrontation strategies focused on changes.
