Keywords:

The aim of this research was to know the relationships among the variables: self-esteem, resilience and academic performance in Pre University Center´s students. 103 students of the regular cycle were taken as the sample of the study. For the data collection, it was used the Coopersmith Self-esteem inventory, adapted by Vicuña y Ríos (2012) in its previous version. The results showed high levels of self-esteem in both genders without finding significant differences. For measuring the resilience we used the Scale of Wagnild and Young, we could observe the resilience in the category of positive, satisfaction, feeling good alone, self-confidence and perseverance. We found significant coefficients between the variables resilience, self-esteem and academic performance in the correlation analysis, thus the general hypothesis of this thesis is accepted, and it concurs with the results of other researches. Also, finding the relationship between resilience and academic achievement, it was observed that these variables stand out, which act as factors to be considered in the teaching-learning process in the different educational levels.
