Abstract

"Teaching and learning through cooperative group work" seems a logical and necessary approach that should be viewed positively by most educators. The question that arises is why, in spite of its recognized potential, the use of cooperative group work to achieve the capabilities mentioned by Fielding has not become widespread in schools, has not been included in curricular policies, and has not been taken seriously by teachers.
