Abstract

The vertiginous advance of technology-mediated science has had an impact in one way or another on the different sectors that frame all human activity. Research in the world describes how technology has produced important changes in the conception of teaching and learning processes. Various investigations in both Latin America and Peru have shown that the implementation of resources based on technologies is effective in the learning process. The main purpose of the study was to describe the influence of the Virtual Classroom of Social Sciences (AVCCSS) program on the academic performance of students in regular basic education. The program was based on the use of the virtual classroom developed on the Canvas platform, with the b-learning modality, it was based on the theory of constructivism, a potential complement for the classroom. We worked from the perspective of the use of information and communication technologies (ICT), mediated by Learning and Knowledge Technologies (TAC). The study is part of the positivist paradigm, quantitative approach of explanatory level, experimental design, pre-experimental subtype. The results show that the AVCCSS program and the use of the virtual classroom had a positive and significant influence on the students' academic performance.
