Influencia del ácido graso omega 3 sobre comportamiento agresivo en adolescentes del Centro de Rehabilitación juvenil, Trujillo Agosto - Diciembre 2013

This research was conducted in order to analyze the influence of omega-3 fatty acid in reducing aggressive behavior in the adolescents of juvenile rehabilitation of Trujillo. The population consisted of 30 adolescents. The data collection technique used was the survey instrument and a psychological test with 91 questions to measure the degree of aggressiveness in adolescents, they are subsequently provided the omega 3 fatty acid for a period of two months and reapplied psychological test. In the results it was observed that the percentage of adolescents with low levels of aggression increased after consumption of omega 3 of 0% to 20%; same happened with the average level of aggression before the omega-3 intake was presented in 17% of the inmates and then rose to 33%. At the highest level of aggression before consumption was presented in 83% of inmates percentage after consumption of omega-3 decreased to 47%. To evaluate the difference between the average levels of aggression statistical Student t test where significant difference between the levels of aggression before and after consumption of omega 3 (p = 2.6 x 10-11) was obtained was applied, so that consumption of omega 3 fatty acid is concluded if it influences the reduction of aggressive behavior in adolescents.
