Abstract

The study is quantitative, pre-experimental. Was performed in order to determine that the cartoon, as a communication strategy, promotes interest in reading in the 4th grade "A" of School Santa Rita de Jesus district El Porvenir. For data collection applied a pretest and posttest to the sample, consisting of 23 students in that section, as well as interviews with experts on issues of narrative and cartoons. The data were analyzed using the Spearman bivariate correlation and Student t test. Was determined at 95% confidence level, the average rating of uptake reading 4th grade students improved after the implementation of the cartoon.
