Abstract

The present research seeks to determine the level of knowledge of mothers and the relationship with the administration of micronutrients in children under 2 years of age at San Martín de Porres Health Center, Trujillo 2017. The design is quantitative, descriptive, simple correlational, in which a questionnaire was applied to measure the level of knowledge, and a checklist to monitor the administration of micronutrients in their homes in a sample of 76 mothers who had met the selection

criteria. The level of knowledge of 67.1% of mothers was regular; 26.3% had a good level of knowledge, and the level of knowledge of 6.6% was poor. Regarding the administration of micronutrients in their homes, only 23.7% administered the micronutrients adequately, while 76.3% did not. According to the Chi-square test, it is concluded that there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge of mothers and the administration of micronutrients, with a value X2 = 11.019 and a value p = 0.002 (≤0.05).
