Abstract

This paper presents the design and implementation of a prototype of PET plastic crushing machine (polyethylene terephthalate), as an alternative technological solution to the great problem of environmental pollution due to the excessive consumption of materials that are not degradable, such as plastic. This project is part of a local technological innovation solution given that in the La Libertad-Peru region, despite the high consumption of plastic materials, there is no formal recycling or disposal strategy for this type of waste, nor technological developments for that purpose. So the proposal that is implemented in this work has a contribution of technological innovation for the recycling of plastics and thus contribute to the transformation or elimination of plastic wasteIn a few words, turning trash into something useful, This article shows the results obtained from a research carried out on the impact of PET, as well as the prototype and design of a PET-type plastic crushing machine. On the other hand, PET-type plastics are easily crushable to tiny dimensions to be subsequently used in different processes that determine products useful to man or with less negative effects on the environment. And in that sense, the work presented here develops a prototype crusher machine whose parts and components are easily constructed or acquirable in the local environment. The plastic crushing machine developed here consists of 3 main parts: (1) Electric system with control logic and direct starting of a three-phase motor. (2) mechanical structure or body of the equipment, which allows to support or support the different parts of the machine. (3) crushing system, which converts the recycled plastic into small chips, which are then stored in a deposit that is part of the machine developed. The knowledge acquired in the course of electromagnetism, from the Mechanical-Electrical Engineer career, allows the design and construction of a plastic waste crusher that guarantees its proper functioning, ease of operation, job security and an adequate selection of the different elements and materials required for the implementation of the equipment.
