Abstract

The present investigation was carried out with the objective of carrying out an economic technical study of the installation of industrial condenser and cooling tower to optimize the operation of the Escher Wyss turbogenerator in the sugar mill Ingenio S.A. The research was applied, pre-experimental and was carried out based on the information obtained from the documentary analysis of the company, to corroborate the information were realized energy balances in current state, then proceeded to calculate the new operating parameters of the turbine generator Escher Wyss Generating the 5 MW of power, subsequently calculating the mass flow of water and the capacity required for the new industrial condenser and cooling tower to be implemented, also had to resize the distribution system of superheated steam, saturated steam and saturated liquid, Medium and low voltage conductors were dimensioned, culminating with the economic analysis of the research; Obtaining the following results: The current yield of the thermodynamic cycle is 14% and the mass now of steam to generate the 5MW of electrical energy in the Escher Wyss turbogenerator is 17,853 Kg / s; The mass flow of condensation water required by the industrial condenser is 718,122 kg / s; The industrial capacitor to be manufactured will be of the housing type and tubes, with a capacity of 48787.406 KW and the cooling tower selected will be a SICREA model COOLPACK SR2920 / OU-7TC70.34 of 50938 KW. Concluding that the economic technical study of the installation of an industrial condenser and cooling tower to optimize the operation of the Escher Wyss turbogenerator is feasible in all respects because it will eliminate the dependency of electrical energy of the SEIN, it will generate great economic income for the company With the sale of the surplus of the same, contributes with the saving of fuel in the boilers and its period of return of investment is of only 3.6 months.
