Abstract

In this study, it is presented a preliminary study of comparison of validity coefficients between three scoring systems for the Bender Gestalt Test (TGB) and pre-academic achievement and intellectual ability scores. These versions are: Qualitative Rating System (SCC), the Gradual Scoring system (SPG) and Koppitz's Developmental Scoring System (SEK). The sample were composed by children who enter to the first grade. TGB scores were adjusted to a nonparametric model in Item Response Theory, the correlations were controlled by age and intellectual ability. It was found that ordinal systems approach had higher correlations, and also retained more variance with age. It was discussed the results interpretations the limitations and practical importance.
