Tests, scales, inventories are useful tools in psychology to collect accurate data and the vade mecum of
psychometric and projective instruments increases each semester, but the authors of these tools have
many singularities and inaccuracies at the time of naming their own creations that collapse the traditional
system of classification of instruments. A Spanish psychometric publishing house currently has more than
800 titles of valid and reliable instruments; a local website of Lima, Peru, has drawn up a list containing
1,479 instruments; and another website presents a list of 5247 titles of psychometric and projective
tests. The authors propose an improved system of nomination or qualification of psychological tools,
using as a reference the fourteen most popular instruments among clinic, educational and organizational
psychologists.
