Four decades of research on racism in Peru

Abstract

This is a review of research on racism in Peru is presented. Only empirical studies are included. These studies come from psychiatry, anthropology, sociology and psychology. The analysis deals with mestizo identity, the most widespread stereotypes, the appreciation of whiteness and the blurred boundaries between ethnicity, class and race.
