An introductory review about traffic psychology

Abstract

In this work, we expose the historical antecedents and principal lines of investigation of traffic psychology, remarking its importance in prevention of vehicle accidents and promotion of traffic safety.

Also, institutions and specialized journals in this new field of psychology are reviewed, so as some pioneer researches in Latin America and Peru. It concludes that traffic psychology is a discipline of applied psychology which uses several methods and treats traffic accident problems with an integral andpreventive approach that begins to emerge in our country.
