Abstract

This research aims to compare the adoption level of the maternal role in first-time adolescent mothers according to their support group. We used the "ARM Scale ", created for research purposes, its psychometric properties were demonstrated. The sample consisted of 66 first-time adolescent mothers between 14 and 20 years old who were attending in a hospital in Trujillo. It was determined that the living group where first-time adolescent mothers achieve an average level predominantly through adoption of the maternal role is the group composed by a teenage mother, her partner and her family of origin while at a low level is the group composed of a teenage mother and her family of origin.
