Abstract

Objective: To determine the importance of the use of corticosteroids in hospitalized patients diagnosed with pneumonia. Material and Methods: It was a compilation of the review of other studies conducted by different researchers over a period of time. Results: The use of corticosteroids in hospitalized patients diagnosed with pneumonia has a better effect in cases of severe pneumonia than in mild pneumonia decreases hospital stay and a better response to the treatment. Conclusion: In studies conducted it was determined that in patients hospitalized with severe pneumonia, the use of corticosteroids is effective.
