Strategic protection of medical personnel at the High Complexity Hospital in Trujillo

Objective: To determine the level of management in compliance with the personal protection protocol for efficacy against type 2 Coronavirus. The study was descriptive, explanatory and cross-sectional, for a population of 607 and a sample of 237 health workers. The techniques applied were direct observation and the documentary record of the workers’ laboratory analysis result reports. Results: The workers complied with the protocol in more than 90% and regarding retirement, the doctors, nurses and technicians, fulfilled 97, 88 and 99% respectively. The efficiency and effectiveness of the personal protective equipment was greater than 88%. Conclusions: The protocol applied to workers was complied with for placement in 100%, for retirement, physicians complied in 97%, nurses 88% and technicians in 99%. The protocol was highly efficient and effective since only 11.2% of workers were infected and developed Coronavirus type 2 disease.
