The lawyer and the study of Latin in the context of the Peruvian legal system

This article deals with the contributions that learning legal Latin implies for lawyers. The main objective is to demonstrate that the study of legal Latin directs the humanistic training and profile of the modern lawyer. In addition, a compact study of legal Latin not only focuses on learning the translation or the meaning of legal words, but also contributes and adapts, through its translation, a legal meaning when resorting to a phrase or some aphorism. The great maxims that we inherit as a legacy of Roman law and medieval law are applicable in the current procedural context, since we continue to resort to them in litigation.
