Motivational factors for university students in the post-pandemic

The article explores the challenges and opportunities that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought to the motivation of university students. The transition to online learning presented significant challenges, such as reduced hands-on experiences and decreased self-efficacy; but it opened the door to more flexible and personalized educational methods that have improved student motivation. In addition, the importance of creating learning environments that promote autonomy, competence and belonging are highlighted, key aspects for the comprehensive well-being of students. The pandemic also exacerbated mental health issues and social disconnection, leading to increased focus on students' emotional and social well-being. Finally, there is a growing interest in careers that have a positive impact on society, such as health sciences and STEM, as well as in social justice issues, reflecting an alignment of academic studies with personal and social values. of students, boosting their commitment and motivation in post-pandemic education.
