Abstract

In this research, technological type - Psychometric, the objective was to determine the psychometric properties of the test Precalculo. The participants were 518 children in 1st and 2nd grade of La Esperanza. The material used is Precalculo test whose authors are Sandra Schmidt and Neva Milicic (2002) that pretend to measure the level of development of mathematical reasoning. The descriptive statistics were used as measures of dispersion and central tendency and this related to construct validity and realibility. This test has acceptable psychometric properties in this population as construct validity as very significant items that show slow correlation coefficient and these are: 18, 54,85,96,98,101,111. On the other aspect, this property is also obtained by confirmatory factor analysis and this checked the theoretical foundation of the author who support that each subtest has its own factors. Likewise, this instrument is reliable because it has a coefficient of .98 Kuder- Richardson. Furthermore, the preparation of linear scales Z and T were obtained in different groups as differences were found by sex and age. Because in the subtest: Basic Concepts, Visual Perception, Correspondence Term to Term, Playing Figure and Sequences, Recognition and reproduction of number and cardinality labor by sex and age.
