Expert police system via the web applying forensic computer procedures to improve efficiency in the process of identifying crimes in the complaints made at police station Otuzco in the Year 2017

Abstract

The research called “EXPERT POLICE SYSTEM VIA THE WEB APPLYING FORENSIC COMPUTER PROCEDURES TO IMPROVE EFFICIENCY IN THE PROCESS OF IDENTIFYING CRIMES IN THE COMPLAINTS MADE AT COMISARÍA OTUZCO IN THE YEAR 2017” was aimed at improving efficiency in the process of identifying crimes in the complaints made at Comisaría Otuzco (Otuzco Police Station). For this, a Web System, which was oriented in the information systems based on rules that are part of the Expert Systems, was developed. For this purpose, information was acquired through surveys to police officers and observation of the most important processes in the Comisaría Otuzco. For this research, the Student T-test was used as a data analysis method, as well as the Z test of difference of means and the ICONIX development methodology. Likewise, according to the main objective raised in the present investigation, after implementing the police expert system via the web, it was possible to increase the police officers’ satisfaction level by 21.40%. In addition, the average number of processes to identify crimes was increased by 48.32%. Besides, it was possible to reduce the delay time in the process of identifying crimes in the complaints made by 77.51%. In the same way, it was possible to reduce the average time for preparing the documentation of complaints by 72.68%. The implemented expert police system via the web allowed automating the processes of identification of crimes and registration of complaints. Therefore, based on the foregoing, it is concluded that the implementation of the expert police system via the web has significantly improved the efficiency in the process of identifying crimes in the complaints made at Comisaría Otuzco.
