Strategic Management Model to Improve the Competitiveness of Travel Agencies from the Tourism Sector in the City of Trujillo 2013-2018

This research aimed to determine whether the implementation of a strategic management model impacts the competitiveness of travel agencies of tourism in the city of Trujillo, based on the application of strategic management tools concluding with a management document prepared objectively and independently to work as a roadmap to maintain and improve competitive advantages, innovate with increased added-value and enable a methodological guide structured to identify variables relevant to determining short and long term objectives, identified according to the strategies defined and aligned to the vision and mission of the sector. Analytic-synthetic and deductive-inductive methods were used, as well as the implementation of a sequential model of the strategic process. This proposed strategic direction model is a sequence of activities that the body of the study develops to achieve a vision which helps to project the future. In addition, Analysis of external and internal variables was used in order to formulate desired strategies to put travel agencies in Trujillo in the right direction towards achieving their competitive improvement.
