Abstract

This paper presents a module in Visual basic to calculate the confidence interval for the true score of psychological tests. The classical test theory postulates that a person's observed score assessed by psychological tests consists of the true score and an error. In this regard, in order to make an approach to a person's true score from the observed score, the use of the standard error of measurement is a common strategy. Proper use of this method and its failure to implement in traditional statistical packages justifies the construction of software as a tool for the evaluator, for to take more appropriate decisions on the basis oftheirfindingsin psychological tests. The use and limitations ofthe tool was discussed.
