Psychometric properties of the scale of parental socialization styles of high school students

Abstract

The present study is aimed at obtaining the psychometric properties of the scale of parental socialization styles in middle and high school students. To do this, there was a linguistic adaptation. The sample consisted of 525 student 1ero to 5th from secondary Florence de Mora, selected by probability sampling stratified. The test reaches a high reliability; in the globals scales in mother and father (alpha=0.914) (alpha=0,963).In the dimensions of independently in mother and father; in the dimension acceptance/involvement obtained (alpha=0.86 ) (alpha=0.88 ),and in Coercion/Imposition, (alpha=0.94)(alpha=.95). He also obtained a proper correlation item-test in the majority of items ranging from (r=0.299)(r=0.841).It is concluded that the scale of styles of parental socialization is an instrument with psychometric characteristics appropriate forthe Florence District ofMora.
