Abstract

The study intended to identify and compare emotions in a group of traffic – police in Lima according to gender. The sample of 203 traffic police was deliberately selected, 88 policemen and 115 policewomen. The PANAS X Scale was used. Tables of distribution of frequencies, percentages, arithmetic averages, standard derivation and the Mann Whitney U were used for data analysis. Conclusions showed that the sample had average categories in negative and positive emotions, basic negative and positive emotions and other emotional states, both in the last weeks and throughout their lives. Comparing gender, it could be seen that policemen had a significant difference in negative emotions.
