Abstract

The objective of this research was to identify the demographic characteristics, of lifestyle and women's personality mistreated by its spouse that at the present time cohabit with him in the town of Miramar, District of Moche in the months of August to December of the 2004. They participated in the study a total of 37 women; 19 mistreated and 18 not mistreated. They were used as instruments a format of Structured Interview and the Inventory of Styles of Personality of Million (MIPS). The results indicated that most of mistreated women had between 20 and 40 years of age, they were of Catholic religion, with primary instruction, housewives, no married, with more than 8 years of union and with 3 to 5 children. As for the lifestyle, they were characterized to perceive that they cannot conserve the work, to be aggressive, not very assertive, lack of decision and to present explosions of anger; they are experienced with conflicts, jealous, depressed, fearful, resentful, boring, with sexual dysfunctions, to have had an unhappy childhood and to have been severely punished and unknown .En the social thing is appreciated recognized by their near relatives and intimate friends and diminished by their spouse. The style of personality indicates that limits appropriate motivationally exist with the accommodation that makes them prone to the married violence.
